NRSI bets are admittedly very fun but I’ve been doing my best not to overplay them and only bet them when I feel 100% confident in it. After many days without this bet type on my cards this feels like the perfect time to hop back on the train. Max Scherzer and Miles Mikolas are on the bump and I think these two could get us the six outs of glory. Scherzer is enjoying a 3-0 record with a 2.5 ERA and Mikolas is 1-0 with a stellar 1.76 ERA. Both of these pitchers should keep this game low scoring so the normal total of 6.5 makes complete sense, we will go conservative and get a four-run discount and take the u10.5 to reduce the NRSI juice.
Scherzer has only allowed 25 hits in 141 at-bats lifetime against these Cardinals bats. That’s only good for a .177 batting average. Cardinals have only scored a second-inning run in three of their 14 games and Mets have only scored a second-inning run once in 17 games. A 16/17 hit rate and 11/14 hit rate would imply this has nearly a 74% hit rate and that’s not even taking into account who’s pitching. I personally think the fact that it’s Scherzer and Mikolas the odds of this main leg hitting are near 80% so I understand the -200 odds as ridiculous as they may appear.
You could pair the NRSI with whatever you’d like but I like our u10.5 total runs. Whenever people see a game with a 6.5 total I’ve noticed people will take the over out of principal ane these games will end 4-2 all the time. We could really win this bet in a 6-4 game which is way higher scoring than it should be with these two on the mound. I mentioned Scherzers lifetime stats vs the STL batters so it’s only fair I also mention Miles stats. Mikolas has only allowed eight hits in 68 at-bats vs these Mets batters which is good for an opposing .117 batting average. Both of these pitchers dominate historically and have both looked phenomenal this year as well.
