We are coming off a mini 2-0 sweep last night on the Diamond, and I found a gem for us today. The Seattle Mariners will travel south to take on the Tampa Rays in a three-game series. These teams are both slated to compete for a playoff position this season.
The Mariners have been very impressive to start the season, sporting an overall record of 10-6. This was a fun team to watch a season ago and got better in some areas coming into the season. They added a pair of all-stars in Adam Frazier and Jessie Winker, along with slugging third baseman Engugio Suarez. The Mariners also have some of the most intriguing prospects in baseball in Julio Rodriguez and Jared Kelenic.
The Rays, on the other side of things, had another successful season a year ago. The Rays have got off to an average start this season, playing to the tune of a 9-7 record. They locked up one of the best players in baseball in the offseason when Wander Franco inked a long-term contract. Franco has been great this year for the Rays and will look to lead them towards another AL East championship in a very competitive division. The Rays will have a tough task tonight facing one of the best young arms in baseball in the form of Logan Gilbert. Gilbert has a sub-one era so far this year, so the Rays could have their hands full. The Rays will send out Matt Wisler tonight, who has been solid in the young season.
I am going to back the Rays on the money line tonight. I think this Tampa offense is due for a breakout, and similar to our Angels last night, this line tells the tale, in my opinion. The better arm has undoubtedly been Logan Gilbert, and yet the Rays are a decent-sided favorite. I think they get to Gilbert tonight for a few runs and the Rays bullpen shuts down this Mariners lineup. Let’s trust the line and cash in on another bet tonight!
