The Cleveland Guardians will battle it out with the LA Angels on Wednesday night. The Angels have gotten off to a hot start this season, while the Guardians have had a nice start to their own season. The biggest surprise for this Guardians team has been their bats. The best player on this team comes in the form of third basemen Jose Ramirez. Ramirez inked a long-term deal with the Guardians in the offseason, and it has paid off to this point. This is a team who is not slated to be in the playoffs, but if they can continue to hit the way they have heading into this series they may be able to make some noise.
The Angels have cooled off those bats to start this series and will look to continue that tonight. The Angels will look to finally make a playoff game in the Mike Trout era. This may be their best show due to their high-powered lineup paired with some good arms on this team. One of those high-powered arms and bats comes in the form of the same person in Shohei Ohtani. Ohtani may be the most well-rounded player in the history of the MLB. He is coming off an MVP season and will look to run back something similar this year. Ohtani is paired with Mike Trout in this Angels lineup, making them one of the most feared duos in the majors. The Guardians will send out Zach Plesac tonight, who will be tasked with holding down these Angels.Â

The Guardians overachieved early in the year with the bats. There is really only one player that strikes fear into me on this entire team, and that’s Jose Ramirez.
Ohtani has such good stuff I do not see him allowing a lot of hits to this lineup tonight. Plesac, on the flip side, has been lights out this season, and I think he’ll be sharp enough to control the pace tonight. The Angels have one of the best first three hitters in the MLB, but then we see a pretty large dip. I believe the bottom of this lineup will be handled with ease by Plesac, which will play in our favor. Let’s stay hot tonight!Â
