I love when average teams overachieve because you could then bet on their inevitable downfall. That’s what we’re doing here and we’re riding a team that’s trending upward finally. Here's my best bet for Wednesday's Philadelphia Phillies vs Colorado Rockies game.

I love these F5 bets, they’ve been so kind to us. This matchup looks like a great one for us too. Philadelphia has started the year off slow but has really seemed to have found their groove, they have scored 18 runs in their last two games and are seemingly starting the turnaround to their season. I’ve been high on the Phillies in the offseason and feel like they have serious potential to make noise. On the other side we have the Rockies who have overachieved. Nobody projected Rockies to go .500 let alone start the season 10-7 (10-5 at one point). I think they’re about to crash back down to reality and lose a third straight tonight.

The Phillies moneyline is in the -200’s right now, so I'm going with the first 5 innings for less juice. I think we have the starting pitcher advantage as well. Ranger Suarez is on the bump for us and although he’s the definition of average he has shown success against the Rockies batters throughout his career. It’s a small sample size but he has only allowed 2 hits in 16 at-bats against the projected Colorado bats. On the other side we have Ryan Feltner who has only had 2 career starts in the MLB and is carrying an 11.37 ERA. I think he has upside in his career eventually but tonight won’t be the night he breaks out.

Everything lines up for us here. Pitching advantage, better batters, Phillies trending upward, the Rockies coming down to earth, and a line with manageable juice. It is worth noting that Suarez best start of the year was at home where he will be again tonight. Everywhere I look I keep finding more information that backs this bet. The First 5’s are so relaxing because there are fewer variables of stressing out about bullpens and you needing to rely on multiple people, it’s much nicer to just address the starting pitchers and let it play out. This is a play I absolutely love, let's stay hot!
