Miami Marlins vs. Seattle Mariners Prediction: Will Matt Brash Rack Up the Strikeouts?
Since the NBA doesn't start until 9:00 pm ET tonight, we'll need something to bet before that. Nobody is trying to kick off a weekend at 9:00 pm ET. That's dumb. In a situation like this, you want to look at MLB. Those guys are playing all the time. There has to be a game going on close to the time we're getting out of work. Lucky for us, I checked the schedule and we've got action before 7:00 pm ET. All we have to do is find a pitcher with gas against the right opponent and we're gold. That part was easy today because the Miami Marlins play at 6:40 pm ET. Sometimes the stars just align for us and we don't even know how it happened. Today is one of those days.

We're at FanDuel for this gem because of the escalators. I don't know what's happening because DraftKings always seemed to be first with pitcher K-props but now FanDuel seems to be beating them. DraftKings has yet to post a number for Brash as of this writing. I'm sure it will be in the 4.5 for -150ish range though. If you want to go that route, you can but I'm trying to take down a +320 banger. It's Friday.
First off if you're a hater, you're probably going to say that Matt Brash only struck out two guys in his last game. That's correct but keep in mind that game was against the Kansas City Royals. No team in MLB has struck out less than they have so far this season. What do you want this kid to do? He's not a magician.
It's not just the Royal's last game though. In his start before that, he had to face the Houston Astros. They don't strike out much either (22nd fewest in MLB). The kid still whiffed five of them. In his game before that, he threw to the Chicago White Sox. The only team that has struck out less than they have is the Royals. Brash still sat six of those guys down. The kid has guts.
Tonight he goes on the road which is scary but he gets to throw to the Miami Marlins which is not scary. At all. So far this season, as a team, they have struck out 28.7% of their at-bats. That's bad. Real bad. Little league bad. Over the last week, no team in MLB has struck out more than they have. The funny part is, they've played one less game in that span than most teams. They are what I like to call a soft target and one that Brash could go parabolic on.
