MLB Parlay for Friday: Ride These Three Teams on the Moneyline
First Leg: Red Sox ML -120
The Red Sox have had a very odd start to their season as it seems like they have been playing better than their record may indicate. The Red Sox come into this game with an 8-12 record and have played in a lot of close games that haven't quite gone their way. With that being said, I think this is a fantastic spot for them to right the ship against an Orioles squad who is starting a guy making his major league debut. Now there is always an unknown factor with these rookie pitchers making their debut but last year and into the start of this year, pitchers making their first career start in the big leagues have not fared too well. The Sox are starting Rich Hill today who has not looked too good in his own right, which is why I suspect the line is this low, but I think Hill has a bounce-back start and their bullpen will be able to hold the Orioles down later in the game and should be able to get away with a win in the first game of this series.
Second Leg: Angels ML +118
This is an absolute nightmare spot for the White Sox. The White Sox have really struggled against right-handed pitching over the past two seasons, and especially against hard-throwing power-righted pitchers which is exactly what they are about to face tonight. Noah Syndergaard has missed a lot of games in his career, but he is finally back to full strength and has looked as good as ever. He comes into this game with a 2-0 record and a 2.21 ERA and has held right-handed batters to a .161 average and left-handed batters to a .172 average, so no one has been seeing the ball well off of him to this point. Giolito gets the start for the White Sox, and he has been very good through two starts but has really struggled with command as he has five walks in just eight innings so far. He has also navigated through a lot of traffic on the base paths, and I think those struggles are finally going to catch up with him tonight as I think the Angels will tag him with a few runs early and won't look back as I think they win game 1 here behind a strong performance from Syndergaard.
Third Leg: Guardians ML +145
I know Frankie Montas is a really good pitcher and has looked fantastic to this point, but this price is simply insane for an Oakland team who cannot hit, or score runs in bunches. Montas had a no-hitter through nearly six innings against the Rangers last week and his team still lost that game as they were unable to give him any run support. Civale takes the hill for the Guardians tonight and he has looked very bad, but he has also pitched against some of the better offensive teams in the league in the Yankees and Giants in his last two starts. I think he is due for some positive regression tonight and will be able to keep the Guardians in the game with a strong start. The Guardians as a whole are due for some positive regression after getting swept in a four-game series by the Angels and think they right the ship here with a big road win against an all-star caliber pitcher.
