Miami Marlins vs Seattle Mariners Prediction: Will Pitching Decide the Game?
We have a nice interleague battle between second-place teams in the AL West and the NL East as the Miami Marlins and Seattle Mariners battle in game two of the series. There is one thing everyone can agree on about both of these teams is that they are built on pitching and not hitting.

Miami Marlins vs Seattle Mariners Prediction
We have the Cy Young winner in Robbie Ray going for Seattle and Jesus Luzardo who has been very good this year as he still adjusts to the NL after being in Oakland for a long time. As for the offenses, Seattle has more guys hitting in the 100s than they do in the 300's and they will be without Mitch Haniger, one of their sluggers (hurt last night). While the Marlins will have to decide what will they do as their three best hitters are all lefties and facing a lefty will make the lineup today interesting as this team also has four guys hitting below 200 on the team.
Seattle is in second place and yesterday was quite the game as Miami won their sixth in a row 8-6 as this game was an explosion early and then a massive comeback late that fell short. We feel today will be a completely different game as Robbie Ray hasn't been Robbie Ray yet in Seattle. Last year, he was the strikeout king while this year he hasn't had more than five in a game. He has had three quality starts and he does own a 2.12-lifetime era against Miami so we expect him to be back in form today and hold the Marlins offense in what will be a lot more of a pitcher's duel than an offense fireworks show that we saw yesterday. With their stud pitcher and a bad offense whether Seattle ends their losing streak or ends Miami's winning streak doesn't matter what does is that Ray gives up two or fewer runs which he has in all of his starts but one this year.
The hot Miami Marlins are in second place in their division where they were picked to finish second to last with the defending champs and the free-spending Mets and Phillies. The Marlins have won with pitching as they held the Nationals to five runs in three games before yesterday's game where it was one bad inning and a bullpen collapse late. Luzardo has finally lived up to his potential and in two of his three starts, he has been dominant this year with 12 strikeouts and eight strikeouts, and only one run given up. The Mariners' offense doesn't scare anyone and with a six-game winning streak and with one of their best pitchers going we expect Luzardo to deliver another dominant performance.
Forget all the stats that mean nothing about today's game we have two bad offenses, two good pitchers, teams that will have to change their lineups today, and when almost half of your lineup is hitting less than their weight we will trust the pitching in Miami tonight as should you. Take the Fish and the Mariners under 7.5 available everywhere and let's see these pitchers run up the strikeouts today.
