Chicago White Sox vs. Los Angeles Angels Prediction
The Chicago White Sox have started the season 8-12. It's probably one of the more shocking records in baseball through the first 20 games. The White Sox were supposed to take over this AL Central division and they've done everything but that.
Dallas Keuchel will take the hill for the White Sox with his 9.00 ERA. The lefty is past his prime with a 5.59 xFIP and just 11.9% strikeouts. He's also walked 10.2% of batters and has a BABIP of .364.
The Angels are getting on base against lefties with a .334 wOBA. The top of the order has been elite between Taylor Ward, Mike Trout, Anthony Rendon, and Shohei Ohtani. Plus, if Matt Duffy is in the lineup, the Angels will have five players who have a whole lot of potential agaisnt Keuchel as he has a .365 wOBA.
As a projected lineup, the Angels have a .367 BABIP, and going up against Keuchel, it's clear that the Angels will put the ball in play. So that's good stuff.
On the other hand, Michael Lorenzen will take the hill for the Angels. He's had much better luck to start the year but still has a 5.33 xFIP in comparison to his 2.92 ERA.
Either way, the White Sox lineup has a .127 ISO and wOBA of .239 against righties this season. That projected lineup also has 22.1% strikeouts and 4.3$ walks. Until we see anything more out of this White Sox lineup, I'm not bothering.
Take the Angels at the short moneyline price, on the road. The Angels are a win away from 15 wins. The White Sox would need to sweep another series on top of winning this game to even get back to .500.
