This is a Mets team who is coming off a disappointing season that ended without making the playoffs. They have been in bounce-back mode this season and playing with a chip on their shoulder early in the year. They bolstered their starting rotation in the offseason, including the man getting the rock tonight in the form of Chris Bassitt. Bassitt was an all-star a season ago in Oakland and will look to replay that type of season this year. He is trending the right way so far, but he will be tasked with facing the defending world champions tonight.

The Braves have got off to a subpar start this season and may have somewhat of a World Series hangover, that and the fact that their best player from a season ago Freddie Freeman, hit the free-agent market. Freeman’s departure came as a shock to many, but the Braves wasted no time finding his replacement. Matt Olson was added to this Braves lineup, and he is no slouch himself. Olson was an all-star a season ago and had one of the sweetest strokes in the game. Ronald Acuna Jr also returned from the IL last week, which is a huge addition to their lineup.

I am backing the Braves here on the first five Moneyline. I love the way Max Fried is throwing the baseball after a tough year a season ago. I have ridden the Mets a lot this season, including last night, but I think they are a bit overpriced tonight. Fried has faired very well with the Met's best hitters in his career.

Pete Alonso hits just .222 vs. Max, while Lindor hits just .111. The hitters who have had some success off Max are Jeff McNeil and Starling Marte, but I trust he will make adjustments tonight. This will be the first time Bassitt faces the majority of this Braves lineup. They only have four at-bats as a team combined vs. Bassitt going 2-4 in those Abs. I will trust the better arm, which is undervalued tonight.
