St. Louis Cardinals vs. Kansas City Royals Prediction

Greinke has had a pretty solid year thus far. The 38-year-old is enjoying a 2.86 ERA and has been especially great at preventing walks. On the season Greinke only has three total batters in his four starts and doesn’t have a single game with more than one. This prop has not just a 4/4 hit rate this year but has hit last year in 20/30 games. I’ll take -130 odds on a bet that has hit in 24 of 34. That’s good for over 70% of the time it has cashed including last year.

His opponents are the Cardinals who are no joke. Regardless if a team is good or bad it doesn’t always translate into being more patient and taking more pitches. Cardinals rank in the bottom 10 in the league in walks taken and didn’t allow a single starter in their last series vs Arizona to throw multiple walks. Greinke has been absolutely peppering strikes all year and I expect more of the same today. This bet has been here every week and I’m disgusted I haven’t rode it each and every time.

Greinke’s lifetime stats against the St Louis bats are absolutely wild. In 239 matchups against these Cardinals bats, he has only walked 14 batters. Less than 6% of the at-bats against Greinke by these bats result in a walk. That is absolutely wild and incredible that he has demonstrated this level of accuracy throughout his career. Yadier Molina has zero walks in 34 at-bats, Arenado has three in 82 at-bats, and Pujols has three in 52 at-bats. These numbers aren’t normal and Greinke looks as accurate as ever. For the record, a hit by pitches does not get recorded as a walk so this is purely throwing four balls. I need to take this and we’re going to.
