Tigers vs. Pirates Line Movement

Detroit Tigers vs. Pittsburgh Pirates Prediction

The Tigers and Pirates aren't sending out studs on the mound tonight. However, the average pitcher looks like Cy Young compared to these two offenses. Bryse Wilson will take the hill for the Pirates. Wilson has a 4.70 ERA and a 5.79 xFIP with just 15.2% strikeouts and 12.1% walks. However, he's held teams to a BABIP of .244 and will take on a Tigers lineup that has an ISO of .097 and wOBA of .276 against righties this season. The Tigers are striking out 26.3% of the time with the projected lineup and walk just 8.7% of the time. Wilson should seriously have success against Detroit. Meanwhile, Michael Pineda will take the hill for the Tigers. He's got a 3.60 ERA on the season with a 1-1 record. However, his xFIP is 5.37 and he's only striking out 10.3% of batters. Still, he's limited walks to none so far this year and will take on a Pirates lineup that has a .087 ISO and wOBA of .265. The Pirates also strike out 28.1% of the time against righties and are hitting 48.2% ground balls on the year against righties as well. Therefore, the under is the play in this game. This is a fade on the lineups. The two subpar pitchers will be good enough to get through these two lineups that have little to no power against righties to start the year. Take the under 8.5.
