The Colorado Rockies have been outperforming expectations this season. They're 13-10 on the year, which currently has them just 2.5 games behind the lead for the NL West. This might be the most competitive division in baseball right now. It's the only group in the MLB where each team has double-digit wins. That said, I'm going to back the Rockies to beat the Nationals tonight in a bounce-back victory, I'll further explain why but I'm looking at Bet Rivers for the best line of -143 on the ML for a full unit play.

I've been on the fade-Patrick-Corbin train for a while now and I am definitely not getting off, especially against the team with the highest weighted runs created plus (wRC+) metric against lefties this season. The Rockies are producing runs at a 41% higher rate than the average team when facing LHP. Enter Corbin, a lefty, who is in the bottom 25th percentile in almost every expected statistic outside of strikeout ability. He's walking a lot of batters, 13 in 5 starts, and his 0-4 record with a 2.08 WHIP are definitely not fake. He's not great, certainly someone to fade, and now he has to pitch at Coors Field. The Rockies also got beat down pretty badly yesterday and I think with a beatable pitcher on the mound today, they strike back and even the series. For the price of -143, you're getting a bit too much value, I think this line likely should be closer to -165. I don't love lines heaver than -140, so as an extra play I'm also grabbing the Rockies' First 5 Inning Team Total Over 3.5 +120 at DraftKings for a half-unit as a way to get some correlated plus-money exposure.
