There were a lot of questions surrounding the Yankees in the off-season. Many critics argued that the Yankees would fall to fourth in the AL East standings. Instead, the Yankees are 18-6 on the season and easily in first place in the division.
Still, the Blue Jays aren't far behind, with a 15-10 record. They'll look to finally beat the Yankees in tonight's game. Here are our picks, predictions, and odds for Wednesday's game between the New York Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. New York Yankees Prediction
It'll be Yusei Kikuchi on the mound for the Blue Jays tonight. On the year, Kikuchi is 0-1 with a 5.52 ERA. To make matters worse, the left-hander also has an xFIP of 6.39 with 18.1% strikeouts and 18.1% walks. He's literally struck out and walked the same amount of batters this season.
Lefties have some power against Kikuchi with an ISO of .250. But it's mostly the righties that are getting to Kikuchi. In 54 plate appearances, righties have a .426 wOBA and ISO of .293 against Kikuchi this season. On top of that, strikeouts are low and he's walking nearly a fourth of righties that come to the plate.
Against lefties, the Yankees have a .232 ISO and a wOBA of .342 using the projected lineup. The Yankees are also hitting just 37.5% ground balls and strike out under 21% of the time against lefties this year.
Meanwhile, the Yankees will send out Nestor Cortes. Last season, the Blue Jays destroyed lefties. But this year, that hasn’t been the case. Only George Springer, Bo Bichette, and Santiago Espinal are having success against lefties this season in the Blue Jays lineup.
The lineup is actually hitting 52.5% ground balls against lefties. Still, the Blue Jays have been able to hit over 28% line drives and Cortes is allowing 25.5% line drives.
Cortes has been terrific though, with a 1.31 ERA along with an xFIP of 2.84. He’s also struck out 35.9% of batters and has walked just 3.8% of batters. But I'm not trying to fade a very good Toronto lineup. Therefore, I'll take the Yankees Over 2.5 in the first five innings at +110.
