MLB Moneyline Parlay Picks (+381) (Bet $100 to win $381)

  • Astros (-195)
  • Mariners (-130)
  • Giants (-125)

The Astros are going to take on Beau Brieske of the Detroit Tigers. He's been very lucky to start the year and that won't continue. Brieske has a 6.36 xFIP with 15% strikeouts and 10% walks with a BABIP of .111. That's not lasting against an Astros lineup that has a near .200 ISO and a wOBA above .300. With Luis Garcia on the mound, the Tigers are going to struggle offensively, as they've been against every righty they've faced this year.

The Mariners actually match up well against lefties this season. Maybe not against Shane McClanahan but against Josh Fleming, the Mariners should be able to put in work. Fleming has been rocked by righties and the Mariners have seven righties in their lineup. On the other hand, Logan Gilbert will get the start for the Mariners and he's been one of the best pitchers in baseball to start the year. With his high strikeouts and the Rays' high strikeout tendencies against righties, the Mariners should win this game.

This is just a pitching mismatch. Jordan Hicks is walking 16% of batters for the Cardinals this season and won't go deep in this game. The Cardinals bullpen has been overused and overworked and will start to fade as the season continues. Meanwhile, Alex Cobb has a 3.99 xFIP with 28% strikeouts on the season. He's the guy I would trust in this game, at home.

MLB Total Runs Parlay Picks +554 (Bet $100 to win $554)

  • Marlins vs. Padres Under 6.5 (-105)
  • Royals vs. Orioles Over 8 (-120)
  • Mets vs. Phillies Under 7.5 (-115)

The Marlins and Padres struggled to score runs last night and will struggle some more tonight with Sandy Alcantara and Yu Darvish on the mound for their respective teams. Darvish has limited power and has struck out 22.5% of batters while Alcantara has induced over 50% ground balls while allowing just 16% of line drives this season.

The Royals and Orioles are not the most exciting offenses but with Carlos Hernandez and Jordan Lyles taking center stage, these two offenses should have enough success to get this game over the total. Hernandez and Lyles both have xFIP's above 5.50. Neither is striking out a high rate of batters either. Hernandez actually has more walks than strikeouts this season. So I'm confident with the over.

I'm not so sure this game will play. But if it does, after yesterday's Mets explosion, I expect things to quiet down a bit. The Mets might score a couple of runs off Gibson early, but the offense will be a little harder to come by. After all, the Mets only had three hits in the first eight innings last night. Expect more of that if the game is played with Max Scherzer on the mound for the Mets.
