Chicago Cubs vs. Los Angeles Dodgers Prediction
The Los Angeles Dodgers will take on the Chicago Cubs in the Windy City on Sunday night baseball. The Dodgers come into this season as the favorite to come out of the NL led by multiple all-stars.
The Dodgers, who won the World Series two seasons ago, saw their season end to eventual World Series champions, the Atlanta Braves. The Dodgers went out in the offseason and somehow made their team even better. Freddie Freeman, a former MVP, and last year's World Series Champ inked a contract with the Dodgers to take over the first base position.
Chris Taylor, a pivotal piece to their team, was re-signed in the offseason as well. They return stars in the form of Trae Turner and Justin Turner, along with one of the best staffs in all of MLB. One of those pitchers is Walker Buehler.
Buehler an all-star a season ago, has been terrific once again to kick off the new season. He will be tasked with facing an inconsistent Cubs offense tonight.
The Cubs enter play sporting a record of just 9-17 on the campaign. The Cubs will send former all-star Marcus Stroman to the mound, who will be challenged with shutting down one of the best offenses in the MLB. Stroman has really struggled in a Cubs uniform so far, going 1-3 with an ERA north of five on the young season. He will look to bounce back to form tonight at home.
I am backing a first innings no runs bet here tonight. I absolutely love this spot as we get two elite arms on the hill. The Cubs have struggled to produce runs this season, and now they are facing arguably the best arm in baseball. Buehler should be able to handle the top of that Cubs lineup with relative ease tonight.
Stroman has got off to a rocky start, but this is still a great pitcher. I expect Stroman to start bouncing back, and I think he will begin tonight. We just need six outs. How hard could it be! Let’s stay hot off an MLB sweep.
