Seattle Mariners vs. Philadelphia Phillies Prediction: Can Phillies Earn the Road Upset?
The Philadelphia Phillies have lost threes series' to the New York Mets this season. If the Phillies never played the Mets, the Phillies would be closer to a .500 team. Tonight, the Phillies will play the Seattle Mariners to begin a three-game series. Thankfully for the Phillies, they'll take on a team that is also below .500. That should give the Phillies confidence coming into tonight's game. Here are our picks, predictions, and odds for Monday’s game between the Seattle Mariners and Philadelphia Phillies.

Seattle Mariners vs. Philadelphia Phillies Prediction
The Philadelphia Phillies will send out Ranger Suarez, a left-handed pitcher who has had his ups and downs this season. Suarez has a 5.43 xFIP while striking out just 14% of batters. He's also walked 9.3% of batters but has induced 52.4% of ground balls while allowing just 14.6% of line drives. The left-hander has allowed a .396 wOBA to righties with a .208 ISO in 87 plate appearances this season. However, if you look at the Mariners' starting lineup, only Ty France and Dylan Moore have hit consistently against lefties this season from the right side. Moore would likely be batting in the nine spot and wouldn't have as many opportunities as the top of the order. On the other hand, Chris Flexen will take the mound for the Mariners. He has an xFIP of 5.62 and has gone 1-4 with a 3.10 ERA this season. Flexen has been lucky with a 3.10 ERA but unlucky with a 1-4 record after having a 3.10 ERA. Anyway, The Phillies should have a few power hitters against righties in the lineup including Kyle Schwarber, Bryce Harper, and Nick Castellanos. All three of those bats have hit righties hard and Flexen isn't known for getting a whole lot of strikeouts. Flexen has earned just 14.8% strikeouts this season so if the Phillies put the ball in play, good things will likely happen. Therefore, I'll back Suarez and the Phillies. The Phillies have more potential at the plate and Suarez should be able to get through a Mariners lineup that only has two righties that are hitting consistently against lefties this year.
