Detroit Tigers vs Oakland Athletics Prediction

NRFI’s are a bet type we haven't bet in a while and for good reason, they usually don’t have much of an edge. Today's game between these two is a rare scenario I see. We have two great pitchers and two horrid lineups. Detroit hasn’t scored a first-inning run since the Miggy 3000th hit game on April 23rd. They now get Frankie Montas who is a phenomenal pitcher and has only allowed seven hits in 41 plate appearances and two RBI to these Tiger bats. My Tigers have simply been awful, I need to at least make some money off of them if they’re going to bring me this much pain.

On the other side, we have Tarik Skubal pitching for Detroit who has limited experience vs Oakland but has dominated his few matchups. Skubal has only allowed one hit in 14 at-bats against these bats. Oakland is only hitting .208 against lefties on the season and Skubal looks very good thus far. As a fan of his I know how well he dominates bad teams and struggles against better lineups, Athletics are definitely not a team he’ll fear so I’m expecting big things out of him.

We will likely see Grossman, Meadows, and Baez vs Montas who are a combined 3-17, and the top four of Oakland's lineup is 0-7 bs Skubal, this is a rare NRFI and I can get behind. This is for Game 1 of the double-header so make sure you bet on the correct game, this total is 6.5 for a reason. We’re going to see many scoreless innings, let's hope the first is one of them.
