We need a win and we need it soon. Whenever I'm in this situation, I look for the first baseball game that is being played and I get down. You can't win a bet early in the day if you don't make a bet easy in the day. That's just how winning bets early in the day works. It's science. Lucky for us we have a choice today. We've got three games starting at 12:35 pm ET. That's like 9:35 pm ET for you people on the west coast. You people are just living the dream out there. Breakfast and live bets are how life should be lived. I tell my kids that every day. I also tell them when you see a weaker opponent, you have to go after them. FanDuel is the spot for this gold since the other books seem to still be in bed. We're only a couple of hours away from game time and both DraftKings and BetMGM still don't have lines for this one. That's crazy. Still, we don't need them because FanDuel has given us a 5+ number we can all be proud of. Competition is good people.

We all know who Adrian Houser is. He's a tough guy to bet. Once you bet him, it's hard to do it again. It's like asking a Desert Storm vet if they want to go to Iraq on vacation. Probably not going to get a ton of takers. Still, the guy did right by his backers last time out and the time before so I think we should trust him. As crazy as that sounds, I think it's the right thing to do.

Here's the thing. This dude has struck out six guys in each of his last two games. Those games were against the Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds but six strikeouts is six strikeouts. I'm no pitching expert even though I did pitch a little on an all-start team in little league (NBD), but six strikeouts in a game is decent. This isn't the norm for Houser but he might be the kind of guy that likes to beat up on the weak and if that's true, he's got the perfect lineup to throw to today.

The Cincinnati Reds haven't been great this season. They aren't mathematically eliminated from the playoffs yet but they're close. But one thing they do better than almost every other team is strikeout. In fact, only two teams in MLB have struck out more than they have this season. In fairness, both of those teams have played more games so there is that. Today I think they will trot out an all-star team of whiffers. We're talking maybe 7+ guys that are strikeout at least 25% of their at-bats. This feels like a great time to deploy Houser.
