Atlanta Braves vs San Diego Padres Prediction: Can Max Fried Rack Up The Strikeouts?

To be a gambler, you have to be mentally tough. There are stretches where you can just get your brains beat in day in and day out yet you're expected to come back for more the next day. It's a lot like marriage in that sense. The trick is, you never think about yesterday. That's over. What we need to think about is today and all of the opportunity that lies before us. There are a million new lines and with those come paths to greatness. I found one in the pitcher strikeout market tonight that is just glorious. It's one that feels obvious yet tricky at the same time. I'm telling you right now, this is our path to greatness tonight. We're all going to take one step closer to the Gambling Hall of Fame with this one. Here is our prediction, player prop, and odds for tonight's Atlanta Braves vs. San Diego Padres game.

Atlanta Braves vs San Diego Padres Prediction

I went to FanDuel for the ladder move because I believe in Max. I've never met him before but I bet we'd be friends if we did. I thought about taking the 4.5 -165 on him at DraftKings but I pee standing up so it was a no-go for me. If you want to do that, you can, just know it feels unnecessary to lay that type of juice. If you have to then you have to though, I'll never judge you for it.

Let me tell you a little bit about our guy Max Fried. He's just hitting his stride. At some point, we'll sit back and laugh at the books forever thinking they could slip a 6+ and 7+ by us at these prices. It's like someone selling you a Ken Griffey Jr. Upper Deck rookie card for $2. Dumb move on their part. Hate to take advantage of people but here we are.

Fried started the season slow so we're getting this discount for a reason. But Max is finally warmed up now. Over his last four starts, he's thrown at least 89 pitches in all of them and he's fanned at least six in three of them. We're talking a couple of eight sit-downs in there too and one was against the Dodgers. On top of that, he induced 15 swinging strikes in each of his last two starts. The guy is missing bats out here and the books aren't giving him any respect for it.

He gets the San Diego Padres tonight which is think is a good thing. We could see a mix of known strikeout guys like Ha Seong Kim, Trent Grisham, Jake Croneworth, Jose Azocar, Austin Nola, and Jorge Alfaro. That's not all though. Both Luke Voit and Wil Myers and both those guys embarrass themselves when they go on the road. We're talking 30+% strikeout rates away from home. If Fried throws 90+ pitches to these guys, there's no reason to think we can't climb this ladder. Some of you may even want to think about 8+ for +500. It's Friday.
