Athletics vs. Angels Line Movement

Oakland Athletics vs. Los Angeles Angels Prediction

The Angels will send out Chase Silseth for his major league debut. He was drafted in 2021 by the Angels in the 11th round and has looked incredible in Double-A to start the season. In five games in Double-A, Silseth has a 1.73 ERA while allowing 15 hits in 26 innings. Tonight, he'll have an advantage going up against the Athletics, in Oakland. The righty will face an Oakland lineup that has a .079 ISO and wOBA of .235 against righties in the last 30 days. On the other hand, Daulton Jefferies will take the hill for the Athletics. He's 1-5 with a 5.22 ERA to start the season. He also has an xFIP of 4.58 and is getting torched by righties this season. Righties have a .414 wOBA and ISO of .276 against Jefferies in the last 30 days. He's also only struck out 15.6% of batters in that same time frame. The Angels, meanwhile, have been smacking righties around, earning a .234 ISO and wOBA of .351 against righties with the projected lineup. Righties like Taylor Ward and Mike Trout could be in for massive days against Daulton Jefferies and lefties like Brandon Marsh, Jared Walsh, and Shohei Ohtani, have had massive power numbers against righties recently. I'd love to trust the Angels with Silseth on the mound, but I won't do that. I'll just take the first five team total for the Angels at Over 2.5.
