Jason Radowitz is here with a preview and breakdown of Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Philadelphia Phillies with his prediction and picks. Can Philly bounce back after back-to-back losses?
ANALYSIS

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Philadelphia Phillies Prediction: Can the Phillies Rebound After Back-to-Back Losses?

It's been an ugly week for the Los Angeles Dodgers. They've lost to the Pirates and Phillies twice and just haven't pitched all that well recently.

The Phillies defeated the Dodgers in extras last night. It was the second straight game where the Dodgers scored seven or more runs and lost. It's not time to panic. The Dodgers still have 20 wins this season. But with left-hander Clayton Kershaw on the Injured List, the pitching likely won't get better.

Can Dodgers pitcher Julio Urias finally give the Dodgers some quality innings? Here are our picks, predictions, and odds for Saturday’s game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Philadelphia Phillies.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs Philadelphia Phillies Prediction

Ranger Suarez will get the call for the Phillies. He's a left-handed pitcher with a 3.68 ERA along with a WHIP of 1.50. Despite the high WHIP, Suarez has a 3-1 record on the year.

In the last 30 days, Suarez still has a 4.96 xFIP. He's also only struck out just 18.1% of batters while walking 9.5% of batters. Plus, against righties, he’s giving up a .376 wOBA and ISO of .207. Despite all of that, Suarez has still been dominant and has destroyed lefties this season.

The Dodgers and their lineup hasn't really made noise against lefties. The projected lineup has a .124 ISO and wOBA of .276 against lefties in the last 30 days. The Dodgers also strike out 22.3% of the time in the same time frame. The only legitimate hitters in the lineup for the Dodgers are Freddie Freeman and Will Smith, but again, Suarez has pitched well against lefties, so therefore, Freeman could still struggle.

Urias has also has a higher xFIP of 4.66 but he's earning 21.9% of batters and keeping walks down to 5.7%.

The Phillies projected lineup hasn't been hitting lefties all that well this season either. Only Bryce Harper and Nick Castellanos have a high wOBA against lefties this season.

Get 40/1 odds on the Dodgers or Phillies Moneyline Alec Bohm and Castellanos, along with Harper, have high ISO numbers, but the reality is, that a .137 combined ISO and wOBA of .289 as a projected lineup isn’t going to get the job done against Urias. The Phillies are also striking out 28.1% of the time against lefties to make matters worse.  Therefore, I think the offense for both teams finally starts to shake off a bit. Give me the under in the first five innings.
