St. Louis Cardinals vs. San Francisco Giants Prediction
For tonight's ESPN game, the Cardinals will pitch Adam Wainwright, a veteran right-hander. Wainwright has a 3.18 ERA but is 3-4 on the season.
However, Wainwright hasn't nearly been as good as his ERA suggests, with a 4.74 xFIP in the last 30 days. In that same time frame, he's got just 15.6% of strikeouts and has walked 11.5% of batters. He's still limited the power well enough.
Wainwright will take on a Giants lineup that has a .153 ISO and wOBA of .334 against righties in the last 30 days. San Francisco only strikes out 17.4% of the time and walks 9.6% of the time in those 30 days against righties.

The main contributors when it comes to power would be two lefties in LaMonte Wade and Joc Pederson. But Wade's numbers are off just 13 plate appearances as he missed the beginning of the year.
For the Giants, it'll be left-handed ace Carlos Rodon. He’s 4-1 with a 1.80 ERA. He's also been worse than his ERA but still has put together a 3.29 xFIP along with 35.7% of strikeouts. Rodon has walked 8.7% of batters in the last 30 days, however, and isn't earning many ground balls. But takes those numbers with a grain of salt. It doesn't matter if he's striking out a whole bunch of hitters.

Rodon will have to go up against a tough Cardinals lineup, however. The Cardinals have been terrific against lefties this year as the projected lineup for the Cardinals has a .158 ISO but a wOBA of .340 against lefties in the last 30 days.
The Cardinals also strike out just 15.4% of the time in that same time frame with 10.6% of walks against lefties. If they're able to limit strikeouts and put the ball in play, the Cardinals will tack on some runs along with the Giants. Let's take the Over 7.
