ANALYSIS

Miami Marlins vs Washington Nationals Prediction: Can Aaron Sanchez Shut Down the Marlins Lineup?

It's happening people. Right before our very eyes, it's happening. It's hot as shit outside, kids are talking about the end of the year and there's only baseball to bet. Summer is pretty much here. I think we should embrace it. I think I might be ready. All I drank all weekend was seltzers (responsibly) so I'm battle-tested. Tonight we have a strictly MLB slate so I think we should look at it like it's an opportunity. Instead of being sad about the NBA and NHL playoffs being on break, we should lean into this whole "only MLB" thing. I'm right and you know it. Deep down in your bones, you know it. The only right move for us at this point is to find some plus moneyline pitcher strikeout props and hammer them like it's the Fourth of July.

Miami Marlins vs Washington Nationals Prediction

Aaron Sanchez 4+ Strikeouts (+128) (Bet $100 to win $128)

*Odds at FanDuel at time of publishing*

This one is at FanDuel but if you are a DraftKings person, you're good because they have over 3.5 for +125. That's good enough. One bonus to playing at FanDuel is they have ladders for us to climb. I know it sounds aggressive, but 5+ is priced to move at +300. I don't think I'm doing that but it's not that crazy if you want to.

Aaron Sanchez people. That's where we're starting tonight. If you don't know who this guy is, it's fine, not many people do. He started out with Toronto back in 2014 and never really became a thing. They stuck with him for a while but he's been with a few different clubs in the last few years. He's a guy who either strikes out a few guys or none at all. The ultimate pitcher strikeout bet is what I like to call that.

On the season, he's only started four times. In those four starts, he's reached this number twice. In the other two starts, he only struck out one guy in both. Here's the thing though, the last one doesn't even count because it was against the New York Mets. They don't really strikeout. The other time was against the Cincinnati Reds which is bad but that was his first start of the season. He was still working himself into shape. Give the guy a break.

Tonight he's on the road in Miami where he'll see a Marlins team he can sit down (probably). There are at least eight guys that could potentially be in this lineup tonight that have struck out 24% of the time over the last couple of weeks. We don't need Sanchez to be Nolan Ryan out there tonight. He doesn't even need to get a guy every inning if he goes his normal five frames. I think he can do it.
