Handicapper and player prop expert John Hyslop is back with another MLB player prop bet for Monday. This time his pick comes from the Milwaukee Brewers vs Atlanta Braves game with his sights set on starting pitcher Ian Anderson.
ANALYSIS

Milwaukee Brewers vs Atlanta Braves Prediction: Can Ian Anderson Rack Up The Strikeouts?

More is always better. I was going to only run with one bet today but that's just not my style. The only bet I had before this one was at 6:40pm ET. Can you imagine what would happen if that bet ended early for some reason? That would be tragic. You have to gamble responsibly and this is a great example of what people mean when they say that. You need to make sure your action takes you through the entire night. If not, what are you even doing? I get that Netflix is nice and Ozark is back as well as Inventing Anna but no gambler wants to start watching shows at 7:15pm ET. That's just dumb. For that reason, I started looking into some later games and found a perfect gem at 7:40pm ET. The Atlanta Braves are taking on the Milwaukee Brewers and we should definitely bet on that game.

Milwaukee Brewers vs Atlanta Braves Prediction

Ian Anderson 5+ Strikeouts (+112) (Bet $100 to win $112)

*Odds at FanDuel at time of publishing*

Again we're at FanDuel because DraftKings doesn't even have a line for this guy yet. I'm not one to complain but there should be lines up. You can't bet if you don't have a line. That's just how betting works. And lines. Luckily for us, FanDuel is on the ball and if we're being honest, they posted a good one. They even have 6+ at +250 for those that want to get nasty.

Let me tell you a little bit about Ian Anderson. He's the sportsbooks' worst nightmare. He's not a strikeout guy. But at the same time, the guy could fan nine. Or he could fan none. He even got eight a couple of times last season. He's a matchup guy and the books don't totally price that. I think we should.

So far this season, Anderson has been all over the map. I think it's because he cut the back of his hair but I could be wrong. He had flowing hair hanging out of his hat last season and now he's just a guy with a beard. It is what it is. Still, he's had a seven-strikeout game as well as a fiver with a couple of four-burgers mixed in. The haters are going to say that he only fanned one in two different starts but one was against the New York Mets so it doesn't even count. The other was his first start of the season. Throw that out too.

Tonight, Anderson and just his beard, get the Milwaukee Brewers. Only two teams in all of MLB have struck out more than they have this season. They legitimately have seven guys that could play tonight that have struck out in at least 25% of their at bats over the last two weeks. That's bad. If Anderson gets the right lineup, he could get even more than five of these guys to sit down tonight. I think he's worth a bet.
