Weird bet but I do dig it quite a bit. This slate is full of uncertainties so I started looking at different markets than we’re used to betting and this really stood out. Watkins has as many strikeouts as he does walks on the season. Spenser has started in six games and has multiple walks in 5/6. The one miss was against Boston which he only threw one walk against. Boston takes the second-fewest walks in the MLB so that isn’t much of a surprise. The only team that walks less than them are the White Sox. Yankees take the fifth-most walks in the MLB so I expect at least two here.

Yankees may rank fifth on the season but they’ve been the best as of late. Starting pitchers have thrown 2+ walks against New York in nine of the last 10 games. The most incredible part is that eight of those nine have thrown 3+ walks! If this prop was at 2.5 instead of 1.5 it would still have an 80 percent hit rate in the Yankees' last 10 games. Yankees are seeing the ball so well and extending at-bats, this is the last team that Watkins wants to face. So all in all in the last 10 games the Yankees have forced starting pitchers to throw an average of 2.8 walks per start.

There really isn’t much to say beyond this one other than both hit rates being spectacular. Watkins has only pitched two innings ever against the Yankees so we don’t have much to go off of but I think today he is in for a rude awaking and during that he will walk some batters. This definitely has the first few inning cash potential. Yankees are red hot and shouldn’t be swinging at junk, I think we see plenty of three-ball counts, let's turn them into some cash.
