Red Sox vs. Astros Line Movement

Boston Red Sox vs. Houston Astros Prediction

The Houston Astros are one of the best teams in baseball. However, sometimes you're going to run into bad teams with a very reliable pitcher. Tonight, the Astros will take on Nathan Eovaldi of the Red Sox. In the last 30 days,

Eovaldi has an xFIP of 3.82 with 24.2% strikeouts and 4.2% of walks. He's also earning over 45% of ground balls and 18.6% of line drives. Those are all terrific numbers. He's going up against a Houston lineup that has performed well against righties. However, ultimately, the Red Sox should end up having more success when it's all said and done.

The Astros will send out Jose Urquidy, who has had a 5.24 xFIP in the last 30 days. He's also only striking out 16.5% of batters and has had his struggles against righties, as he's allowing a .351 wOBA and ISO of .186.

Trevor Story just hit a homer in yesterday's game and looks to be getting back on track. Xander Bogaerts, another righty, has a wOBA of .397 against righties in the last 30 days and J.D. Martinez also has inflated numbers. Plus, you can never count out Rafael Devers against righties.

With that said, I like the small price for the Red Sox, at home. Boston isn't nearly as bad as their record will have you believe. Things have started off shaky, but they're going to bounce back. An early series win against the Astros will help.
