New York Yankees vs. Chicago White Sox Prediction: Will White Sox Get Back Over .500?
The New York Yankees are currently 28-10 on the season. Sure, the Yankees have been beating up on bad teams. But at least they're doing what they should be doing. Meanwhile, the White Sox had high expectations coming into the season but are just 19-19 on the season. With a series win over the Yankees, the White Sox would be back over.500 to start a new week.
Can the White Sox get out to an early lead in the weekend series? Here are our picks, predictions, and odds for Friday’s game between the New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox.

New York Yankees vs. Chicago White Sox Prediction
The Yankees will send out their surprising ace to start the series. No, it's not Gerrit Cole. It's Nestor Cortes! Cortes has a 1.35 ERA to start the season. It's been extremely fun to watch. In his last start, Cortes took on the White Sox and allowed one run on three hits in eight innings. He also struck out seven in that game. Still, in the last 30 days, Cortes has a 4.27 xFIP, despite earning 27.6% of strikeouts. He's been a bit lucky lately but is getting the job done. The White Sox, on the other hand, are getting better against lefties as the season progresses. The lineup has a .132 ISO and wOBA of .316 in the last 30 days. Chicago is walking at a high rate and can get on base against Cortes. However, the power will still lack. The White Sox will send out Dallas Keuchel on the mound for the White Sox. The lefty has a 5.54 ERA to start the season and is pitching to contact later in his career. Still, he went five innings while allowing no runs against the Yankees in his last start. However, he gave up four hits and three walks in five innings. The Yankees had plenty of chances. Keuchel has had a 6.45 xFIP in the last 30 days with 10.2% of strikeouts and 13.9% of walks. Tonight, he's going up against a Yankees lineup that has a .221 ISO and wOBA of .317 against lefties in the last 30 days, along with 21.3% of strikeouts and 8.7% of walks. The middle of the lineup between Aaron Judge, Anthony Rizzo, Giancarlo Stanton, and Gleybar Torres could knock Keuchel out of the game early. Give me the Yankees Over 2.5 in the first five innings on the team total. I like New York to capitalize with runners on base this time around.
