San Francisco Giants vs. New York Mets Prediction
With Jacob deGrom and Max Scherzer out of the rotation, the Mets will look to veteran pitcher Chris Bassitt to hold down the fort. He has a 2.77 ERA to start the season.
However, in the last 30 days, Bassitt has struggled a bit, with a 4.91 xFIP. He’s still earning 22.3% of strikeouts along with allowing just 6.9% of walks in the last 30 days.
Against righties, however, Bassitt has allowed a .360 wOBA and ISO of .208 in the last 30 days. But the Giants really don't have righties that hit righties consistently in their lineup.
The Giants have power against righties, with a .203 ISO and wOBA of .359 as a projected lineup. However, only Wilmer Flores is the right-handed hitter with success against righties. The Giants have a lineup with six lefties and Bassitt has dominated lefties in the last 30 days.

San Francisco still only strikes out 15.8% of the time while earning 10.6% of walks. There's more potential from the Giants tonight. Meanwhile, Logan Webb head out to the mound Giants. He has a 5-1 record along with a 3.54 ERA on the season. His xFIP is solid at 4.11 in the last 30 days but he’s only earning 17.8% of strikeouts.
However, he's keeping things together as he's induced 59.4% of ground balls while limiting line drives to 17.7% in the last 30 days.
Webb has been awful against lefties this year, allowing a wOBA of .408 with an ISO of .256 in the last 30 days. Tonight, he’s going to have to take on six lefties in the Mets order. There's no major threat in the Mets lineup from the left side against righties, however, we also said that last night and the Mets added 13 runs. I'll take the Mets as underdogs as they look for their 30th win of the season. Bassitt is the best pitcher the Mets have now and that should give them confidence that they'll be in this game throughout the entire portion of the game.
