Los Angeles Angels vs. Texas Rangers Best Bet: Will Glenn Otto Shutdown the Angels?
I'm no fortune teller but I can tell you this. We're going to need something to bet around 9:38 pm ET tonight. That's just how we operate. There's nothing wrong with that. Obviously, the NBA game is on at 8:30 pm ET so we'll have that going on but if you've been paying attention recently, you know that those games are turning into blowouts left and right. It's disgusting. You could just do a YOLO alt line parlay on the side and total but I think we need to be smarter. Why bet something that will end up making you mad if it's a good game. It just doesn't make sense. Especially when you could just bet what many people are calling the greatest play of our lifetimes. Feels like a pretty simple decision if you ask me.
Glenn Otto 5+ Strikeouts (+102) (Bet $100 to win $102)
I'm at FanDuel for this one but if you want to go over to DraftKings you can do that. They have over 4.5 at -115 which isn't all bad. Still, I like the plus sign in front of my bets so we'll go to FanDuel. The thing about FanDuel is you can take 6+ for +210 if you need to feel alive so there's that too. It's still kind of early in the day so I'm not sure if I'm doing that yet.
Glenn Otto has a lot of things going for him. Obviously the name Otto plays since that was one of the best characters on The Simpsons. Guy was hilarious. But one thing this Otto can do that the other can't is throw a baseball 93 mph. He actually threw it harder last season but still, 93 is legit. Guy was a double digit K/9 guy back in AA ball in 2021 because of it. He seems like a guy we can trust.

This season hasn't been great for Otto but he hasn't been awful either. He fanned five guys in his first two starts of the season so we know he has this number in him. He hasn't hit this number since but he also threw against the Houston Astros, Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees. Those aren't exactly strikeout teams. I don't even target them. It's actually dumb to do that.
Tonight Otto is getting the Los Angeles Angels which is a good thing. Only two teams in the entire MLB strike out more than they do on a per game basis. They have at least seven 25+% strikeout guys that could be in the lineup tonight. Dane Dunning just sat down eight of these guys last night. Big boyed them too. Honestly, if you want to go 6+ at +210, that's not that crazy. I think we may see a season-high out of this guy tonight.
