I'm staying in LA after targeting this game successfully yesterday, I think we have another matchup between these division rivals that gives us a sizable betting edge. Instead of focusing on who will be winning the contest, I'm going to look at the amount of scoring to be done early in the game.

Glenn Otto does not inspire much confidence and the Angels have the capacity to score effectively. I'm going to play LA to go over their team total number in the first five innings. I am finding LAA F5 TT Over 2.5 at DraftKings for -115 odds and playing a full unit. Let's get into the details!

I have a suspicion that the Angels might be able to cash this bet for us very quickly because of how badly they should lay the hammer down upon Glenn Otto. Otto is a former Yankee prospect sent over in the Gallo trade last year. The 26-year-old definitely has potential and his strikeout stuff is above average, but that's about where it stops for Otto. He is in the bottom 20th percentile of almost every key sabermetric statistic. The ones that raise the biggest red flags are his .417 xwOBA, .596 xSLG, and 6.87 xERA - all ranking in the bottom 5% of the MLB.

The Angels offense is also not one to be messed with and can get three early runs against anyone when they're swinging the bat well. They are one of the most dangerous offenses in the MLB with names like Trout, Ohtani, and Rendon and they destroy RHP like Otto.

The Halos also are a much better team during night games this year. Their Day/Night OPS split is a bit surprising. They hit to a .799 OPS at night but just a .634 during day games. Luckily we're playing a night game in LA today so we have all the more reason to think the Angels should get us over the 2.5 runs in the first five innings. There's a lot to like here and I don't think this line should be just -115, it's a nice bit of value. Good Luck!
