Padres vs. Brewers Line Movement

San Diego Padres vs. Milwaukee Brewers Prediction

The Padres will send out ace pitcher Yu Darvish for today's game. Darvish has a 3.91 ERA but a 4-1 record to go along with it.

In the last 30 days, Darvish has had a high xFIP of 4.73 and is only earning 16.2% of strikeouts. However, Darvish has limited walks to 1.9% and continues to keep power numbers and weighted on-base averages down on both sides of the plate.

Darvish won't have an easy task going up against Milwaukee. The Brewers have a .189 ISO and wOBA of .336 in the last 30 days against righties. That's above average, however, Milwaukee is only hitting 19.5% of line drives and striking out 23% of the time.

On the other hand, Aaron Ashby will get the start for the Brewers. He's a left-handed pitcher with terrible command and a whole lot of potential. Ashby has walked 13% of batters but other than that has been extremely efficient.

However, he's taking on a Padres lineup that has a .170 ISO and wOBA of .345 with just 17.3% of strikeouts and 12.1% of walks in the last 30 days against lefties. The Padres simply match up well against Ashby. They'll get guys on base.

The Padres just need a couple of clutch hits while guys are on base and that should be the difference in this game. I like the Padres to earn the series win at home with Darvish on the mound. Ashby is 0-3 on the year and has been all over the place when it comes to command and control.

Let's take the Padres to win in this exciting rubber match at home.
