Nationals vs. Rockies Line Movement

Washington Nationals vs. Colorado Rockies Prediction

The Washington Nationals will send out Aaron Sanchez to start the new weekend series against the Rockies. Sanchez has a 7.16 ERA to start the season and has compiled an xFIP of 5.45 in the last 30 days.

Sanchez was once considered an elite starting pitcher for the Blue Jays. But has now sunk so far down that he's earning 11.5% of strikeouts in the last 30 days.

Righties have a .507 wOBA and ISO of .314 in the last 30 days and the last 57 plate appearances against Sanchez. Colorado should have six righties in the lineup against Sanchez. As a projected lineup, the team has a .309 wOBA and has real potential to get on base and score runs.

On the other hand, Austin Gomber will take the mound for the Rockies. He's a left-hander that has looked solid this season. The lefty has a 4.11 ERA on the season and an xFIP of 4.32 in the last 30 days.

Gomber's strikeout rate is low but he's limited walks and is earning 51.1% of ground balls. Righties have hit him for power a bit recently but the Nationals don't know what power is against lefties.

The projected lineup for the Nationals has a .087 ISO and wOBA of .295 in the last 30 days. Even Juan Soto has a .100 ISO and wOBA of .307 against lefties in the last 30 days. I'll take my chances with Austin Gomber, a near pick-em type game. Give me the Rockies.
