Boston Red Sox vs Baltimore Orioles Prediction

Boston is just a much better team and have the pitching advantage today. Baltimore winning yesterday makes me even more confident in this bet because I’m a law of averages guy and Baltimore winning two straight doesn't happen all that often. Boston hits .255 against righties and Jordan Lyles is far from an ace, I’m expecting him to get around at least a bit. I definitely think he overachieved last time out vs Boston only allowing one run through six innings and wouldn’t expect him to duplicate the performance. I'm expecting him to allow 2-3 runs here.

On the other side of the bump, we have Nathan Eovaldi. Eovaldi has a nice history vs Baltimore, in 118 at-bats he has only allowed seven RBIs to these batters. About an RBI every 17 at-bats, is absolutely insane. Eovaldi is a better home pitcher than away pitcher historicity so I’m expecting his numbers to shift from where they are currently at and this seems like the start to do that. Eovaldi this year threw seven scoreless innings against Baltimore with no walks and just three hits, an absolute gem of a performance.

Boston is due a win because they’re not losing to Baltimore twice in a row, Eovaldi owns them historically and Lyles is due to negative regression. This is one of those bets that has everything going for it. I also like Eovaldu u2.5 Earned Runs but with the projected storms at 3 PM EST I wanted this bet to focus on the first 5 innings. I think both are great spots and I trust the Boston bats a lot right now with how they’ve been. Jordan Lyles shouldn’t be the man the quiets them down, I am very confident with this one but let's make sure to get it in there quick, the game is sooner than you’d think!
