Detroit Tigers vs Cleveland Guardians Prediction
The Tigers won game one of this series, which tells me everything I need to know about Game 2. Tigers playing well in back-to-back games has the same likelihood of Lebron entering a dunk contest or Brady going through with his retirement. Detroit is actually on a two-game win streak dating back to the last series vs Minnesota, they have only gone on a 3+ game win streak once all year so we know how rare that is. This seems like the spot they get humbled. I know as well as anybody how much Cleveland owns my team. It has frustrated me for years but we typically don’t win series against them. A big part of why Cleveland should take care of business today is Shane Bieber.
Bieber is someone who has let us down this year, you may look at that and be mad at him but that’s not how I choose to view it. He has to feel bad and now he’s due to put some money in our pockets. Bieber just played this same Detroit team six days ago and only allowed two Earned Runs. Historically Bieber absolutely owns these Detroit bats. Bieber has only allowed 24 hits in 118 at-bats. That is a .203 batting average as a team, he has walked 11 batters but that hasn’t really tranlated into earned runs. He has allowed 10 runs in 129 total plate appearances. One run every 13 batters bodes well for him being able to allow two or less. If he faced 26 batters he would only allow two on average.
Bieber is 5/8 on this prop and Detroit averages the least runs per game in the MLB with 2.77. I like Bieber a lot and think he’s a better pitcher than his numbers show this year and Detroit on a win streak won’t know what to do with themselves. This feels like one of those dominant starts where he goes seven innings and allows one run at the most, if he allows two we won’t be mad at him though. I don’t mind the juice, I like bets with an edge. The Tigers' complete game runs prop is set at 2.5 as well so we’re getting that number but excluding the bullpen, sounds cool to me.
