Cincinnati Reds vs San Francisco Giants Prediction: Can Alex Cobb Shut Down the Reds Lineup?
We don't have a lot of time to get this one in people so try to read this as fast as you can. Don't be mad at me either because I'm not the one who scheduled this game at 11:35am ET. Still, I think it could be a good thing that we have action this early. There's a chance that this thing could carry us into the 1:00pm ET wave of MLB games which will take us to the 4:00pm ET MLB games.
By the time those are over, we'll be gearing up for Game 7 of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals. I'd say we're an MLS soccer game at 6-6:30pm ET away from having action all day. Anytime that happens, it's a good day. Those days are actually one of the best ones to go on a heater. They just are. Lucky for us, I have the perfect way to start the heater.
Let's dive into my pick, prediction, and the odds for the Cincinnati Reds vs San Francisco Giants game.

Cincinnati Reds vs San Francisco Giants Pick
Alex Cobb Over 5.5 Strikeouts (+110) (Bet $110 to win $100)
*Odds available at BetMGM at time of publishing*
I'm at BetMGM for this one because they have the best number. DraftKings isn't far behind with 5.5 +100 but I'd still rather the +110. FanDuel actually has the worst of the three with 5.5 -112 which is kind of crazy if you ask me. Still, if you wanted to play there and do the 7+ strikeouts for +190, it may prove to be the smartest way to handle this situation.
Cincinnati Reds vs San Francisco Giants Prediction
Alex Cobb. The pride of Vero Beach, Florida (probably). I feel like there's some sort of connection between us since I was born in Vero Beach. He was actually born in Boston, Massachusetts but I now live outside of Boston so that makes the connection stronger if you ask me. His middle name is Miller and my softball team, Just the Tip, just switched to Miller Lite as our official beer for this upcoming season. This bet is obviously meant to be.
My connection to Cobb isn't the only reason he's going to whiff at least six guys today. For starters, he's done it in three of his last four games. The only time he didn't was when he went to Colorado and only sat down four Rockies. The Rockies don't really strikeout. In fact, none of Cobb's opponents in his last six starts really strike out much. Remember, he still got home on this number against most of those teams.
Cobb's opponent today is one that we can be happy about. We're talking the Cincinnati Reds here people. As a team, only five other clubs have struck out more over the last week. Another Alex, Alex Wood, just fanned six of them yesterday. They are literally seven of them that could be in the lineup today that have struck out at least 25% of the time over the last two weeks. Our guy Cobb is going to spread these guys.
