New York Mets vs. Philadelphia Phillies Prediction: Can Zack Wheeler Limit the Mets Lineup?
The New York Mets defeated the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday, giving them another series win over their divisional rival.
The Mets are now 31-17 on the season and aren't looking to stop there. However, it's going to be a bit more difficult tonight, with the Mets having to face an old friend in Zack Wheeler.
Wheeler has been sensational this year and will look to salvage this three-game series against the Mets with a win.

New York Mets vs. Philadelphia Phillies Prediction
The Phillies will send right-handed ace, Zack Wheeler, on the mound for tonight's ESPN Sunday Night Baseball game. He's been terrific recently and that likely won't stop tonight. Wheeler has had a 2.52 xFIP along with 33% of strikeouts and just 2% of walks.
The truth of the matter is, Wheeler isn’t getting a ton of grounders and really isn’t limiting line drives at a high rate, but he gets so many strikeouts, that that type of contact isn’t a huge factor.
Meanwhile, the Mets have a .150 ISO and wOBA of .328 against righties using their projected lineup in the last 30 days. But the interesting part is that the Mets have limited strikeouts against righties recently.
Against righties, the Mets have struck out just 17% of the time, while Wheeler, on the other hand, has struck out 33% of batters in the same last 30 days. If the Mets can put the ball in play, the Mets can get solid line drive contact against Wheeler.
It'll be Chris Bassitt for the Mets tonight. The right-hander was knocked around in his last outing against the Giants. Because of his last start, where he allowed eight runs to the Giants, Bassitt now has an xFIP of 5.04 in the last 30 days.
Still, Bassitt has a 3.91 ERA on the season and will likely bounce back at home tonight.
The Phillies have a .167 ISO and wOBA of .312 against righties in the last 30 days using the projected lineup. Lefties like Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber, and Garrett Stubbs have been hitting righties at a consistent rate with high ISO numbers.
Bassitt has allowed plenty of power and high ISO numbers to both sides of the plate. If one pitcher is going to fall tonight, it's likely going to be Bassitt.
Even if Bassitt puts together a solid start, the Phillies will likely earn a couple of runs in the first five innings. Therefore, I'll roll with the Phillies in the first five innings on the moneyline.
