Oakland Athletics vs Houston Astros Prediction: Six Quick Outs And A Safe Leg To Go With It

My favorite new market with this baseball season is the NRSI market, no runs in the 2nd inning is even more fun than the popular NRFI’s. Let's dive into the Athletics vs. Astros odds, predictions, and picks.

1u - HOU/OAK No Runs 2nd Inning / Oakland u6.5 Team Total (-145) (Bet $145 to win $100)

We are no stranger to this bet type so I don’t feel the need to explain how to find it this time. Obviously, if any of you have any questions let me know and I will try to help but I’m giving y’all the benefit of the doubt here. No Runs Second Innings bets also known as NRSI’s have been very kind to us on the short season although we haven’t played too many of them. I especially like them in games with totals of 7 or lower and tonight this game has a beautiful 6.5 total. Vegas has this one as a complete pitching duel and so do I.

Frankie Montas vs Cristian Javier should be a good one. Montas is 9/10 on this prop for us and funny enough his one miss was last start which should bode well for us. I can’t see him going nine straight and then allowing a 2nd inning run two games in a row. Last game he pitched 7 innings only allowing one run so it was a complete anomaly. Cristian Javier is 4/5 in his 5 starts so he also has a great hit rate. His leg will be the trickier of the two but Oakland doesn’t have many bats that scare me into thinking I should be too worried.

The NRSI by itself is juiced beyond belief but when paired on DraftKings or MGM with Oakland u6.5 Team Total it puts us at a more reasonable number. Oakland has scored 7+ runs only twice in their last 27 games. Those two games were against Joey Wentz for Detroit making his MLB debut and George Kirby for Seattle making his fourth ever start. Javier and their number 1 ranked bullpen should keep them from scoring 7 easily, especially considering that this game has a 6.5 total. We just need no runs in the 2nd inning, let's do this!
