Where do I begin with this one? Let's start off by addressing that this game is being played at Coors Field. There is not a more hitter-friendly park in all of baseball with the high elevation. This game has a total of 10.5 for good reason and we just need the home team to contribute 5 of those. I have no trust in Antonio Senzatela so we’re exclusively betting on the bats. Colorado has 5+ runs at home in 10 of their last 12 games and tonight's matchup is a juicy one for them.
Miami is putting out Trevor Rogers in Game 1 of the doubleheader. Rogers is far from a good pitcher as he currently holds a 5.23 ERA. Why we love this bet goes deeper than that though. We’ve established that Colorado crushes at Coors but what I haven’t mentioned is that Trevor Rogers is a lefty. Why is that so important? The Rockies hit .307 on the year against lefties! In 429 at-bats they have 132 hits, these numbers are absurd. My initial lean was to just take the o2.5 team total in the first 5 innings but I see better value here. Colorado also has plentiful games where they are brutal early and get hot late.
That 10 for their last 12 hit rate is great and how bad they crush lefties is just as nice to hear. This bet feels like a no-brainer to me. The temperature won't be too warm at just around 60 degrees but the forecast looks good and it shouldn’t rain during game time. We shouldn’t have to worry about a shortened game ruining our over. Just remember that this is for Game 1 of the doubleheader so be very careful when placing this bet. The first pitch will be at 3:10 PM EST. It’s very possible we move this number to 5.5 so try to act fast, let's go yall!
