Milwaukee Brewers vs San Diego Padres Prediction
You could reduce the juice more on the alternate Padres team total but we want to play it safe. For those who don’t know you can place this bet on both DraftKings and BetMGM but I will explain how to place it on DraftKings.
When you find the Padres/Brewers game click on “Sams Game Parlay” and then scroll over to “Innings”. When you’re there then scroll down to “Total Runs - 2nd Inning” and take the u0.5. Next, you will scroll over to “Game Props” and select San Diego's team total of u6.5. This is only going to be towards San Diego's runs, it doesn’t matter what the Brewers' offense does outside of the second inning.
The game's total is 6.5 so getting the same number specifically on the Padres seems like a very safe leg. This NRSI is one I have to play with both Corbin Burnes and Joe Musgrove pitching. Musgrove is 7/9 at not allowing a second-inning run and Corbin Burnes is 10/10 at having shutout 2nd innings and already showed he can do it against San Diego.
As for our second leg, when Corbin Burnes starts opposing teams have not scored 7+ runs once this year. Dating back to last season, a team hasn’t scored 7+ runs against the Brewers when Burnes starts in 30 of his last 31 games. The only team in the last 31 games to score 7+ are the Dodgers who shouldn’t be talked in the same breathe as San Diego.
We have two pitchers with less than two ERAs and are known for being elite. If these are two schmuck pitchers overachieving I would predict regression but these are two guys who are great and should continue to do great things. All we need here is six outs and then our other leg has a 97% hit rate dating back to last year. These two pitchers have combined to pitch 19-second innings and have a 17/19 hit rate there. The odds would suggest this bet should have way north of a 70% chance of hitting so paying -150 juice is well worth it. This is our only play of the day so let's make it a good one.
