Baltimore Orioles vs Cleveland Guardians Prediction

The Orioles were no-hit last night until the seventh inning when they had to face former Cy Young award winner Shane Bieber. The Guardians used some early runs to take a commanding 6-0 lead, and with Bieber on the mound, that would be far too much for the Orioles to overcome. The Orioles did put up a three-spot in the eighth inning, but it proved to be benign.

The Os will look to bounce back today behind twenty-seven-year-old right-hander Tyler Wells. Wells has thrown the ball well this season but has not gotten a ton of run support. He enters play sporting an era of 3.71 but just a 2-4 record. Wells will be opposed by young righty Triston McKenzie.

McKenzie has been very good this season but similar to Wells when he has pitched; the offense has gone silent. He is sporting an era of just 2.65 but brings a 3-4 record into this game today. These teams will both likely not be playoff teams, but they are trying to find out who is their core guys moving forward. The Orioles know young catcher Adley Rutschman is one of those guys. He is one of the top prospects in all of baseball but has not found his way yet, hitting just .149 in forty-seven at-bats. 

I am backing the Baltimore Orioles today on the money line. This is a sentence I do not say all that often, but they have been good to us this season, and this looks like a good spot today. This is a huge public fade following a day the public went crazy. I think this is a good dog for us to attack.

This could be a low-scoring game, but I trust Wells turns in a good outing, and I think McKenzie is due for some regression. The Orioles bats should get going tonight and spot Wells some runs early. This is too good of a spot for the Os to pass up today so let’s do it and stay hot on the Diamond!
