Luis Severino only has three wins on the season but if you see the teams he has faced you understand the difficulty there. Very rarely has he been a starting pitcher of a team that is - 335 favorites. Severino’s outs prop is set at 17.5 with -200 juice so the general public believes that Luis goes at least six innings tonight. We would need him to leave with the lead and for the Yankees to maintain it throughout the ending of the game. I see this as highly likely and I have faith in the Yankees bullpen which ranks third in the MLB in terms of ERA.
Detroit is putting Beau Brieske on the mound who is 0-4 in seven starts and has a 5.25 ERA, the guy has been extra bad lately. Yankees should have no issue with roughing him up at home to help Severino’s path to recording a win. The Tigers lineup is out and these batters are hitting 10-51 against him which is only a .196 average and these Tigers bats only have four RBI’s against him. I think he leaves the game after six innings with a cool 4-2 lead and the Yankees bullpen closes the door on my Tigers.
Remember when reading this that this is an early game so place this bet as soon as possible. The Tigers have won seven of their last 10 but they do to some regression and it showed last night getting absolutely throttled 13-0 by this same Yankees team.
I fully expect my Tigers team to get swept here so we can at least hedge the happiness here. Severino’s pitch count has gone up throughout the season and he now has 90+ pitches on five straight games even last game he hit triple digits. This is the first play of the day that stood out to me and I’m not going to overthink this.
