The Arizona Diamondbacks and the Cincinnati Reds will battle it out from Great American Ball Park for game one of this series on Monday night. The D-Backs are fresh off a pair of losses against the Pirates while the Reds enter play after a loss to the Nationals. These are two teams that will likely miss out on the postseason.
The Reds began the year winning three of their first twenty-five games but since then, they have been able to win some games and be competitive in most. This team moved on from two of their All-Stars a season ago via trade and saw All-Star outfielder Nick Castellanos ink a deal with the Philadelphia Phillies. The Reds now look at a roster filled with young players sandwiched around a few veterans. One of those veterans is Joey Votto, who has really struggled this season after being in the MVP conversation just a season ago.
Hunter Greene will be one of the young guys that the Reds will look to. Greene gets the ball tonight for the Reds, and he has been up and down the season. His numbers make it look worse than it really is, as he has had issues with one blow-up inning this season. He has been really good then will have one inning that he allows four to five runs. If you like velocity, this is your guy. Greene throws more one hundred miles per hour pitches than anyone in baseball and by a wide margin.
