Royals vs. Blue Jays Line Movement

Kansas City Royals vs. Toronto Blue Jays Prediction

The Toronto Blue Jays will clash with the Kansas City Royals tonight from Kauffman Stadium in KC. The Blue Jays enter play playing some good baseball at the moment as they enter this one nine games north of .500. On the flip side, the Royals sit way down in the standings repoing a record of 17-35.

It has been a struggle for the Royals, a team that some people thought could catch people off guard and steal a playoff spot. The pitching was going to be the thing this team had to overcome, and they have not been able to this season. The hitting has also been disappointing for the Royals, and this was the area that we thought they would be strong in. Whit Merrifield has been one of the best hitters in baseball the last three seasons, but he is hitting just .224 this year. Salvador Perez set a career-high in home runs last year and was an MVP candidate. This season he is hitting just .199 with eight home runs.

The Royals were excited about bringing up one of the top prospects in baseball in Bobby Witt Jr., but he has struggled to adjust to the bigs so far, hitting .224. This is a team that’s second-best average hitter is .261. That’s not good. Witt does lead the team in runs batted in, steals, and runs. He will be just fine in the bigs, but the struggles of some of the veterans are a cause for concern. The Royals know it’s a long season, but their chances of being a contending team are slipping away quickly.

I am backing the Royals tonight on the first five moneyline. I know this is a scary play, but scared money don't make no money. The Royals are getting tremendous value for who they are facing.

Ross Stripling should never be priced at -170 with all due respect. Stripling is just not that good, to be plain and simple, and the fact we can get the Royals on this line screams value to me. The thing about KC is any of these great hitters can turn it around in one night, and I am willing to say that they will get a few early runs off Stripling. This is a good letdown spot for Toronto, who has been playing good baseball and may take this KC team lightly. Let’s get another win tonight!
