Atlanta Braves vs Oakland Athletics Prediction: Can Kyle Wright and The Braves Continue Their Success?
The Atlanta Braves are back above .500! The Braves still have a long way to go if they're going to want to compete for the NL East. But for now, the Braves are starting to turn the corner.
The Braves will now start a new series against a 20-win Athletics team, at home. The Athletics should absolutely be worried. The Braves have plenty of momentum and get to face a lefty to start the series.

Atlanta Braves vs. Oakland Athletics Prediction
Every time I'm writing about the Braves, I'm writing when they're taking on a lefty. When the Braves are facing a lefty, you have to take notice.
The Braves' projected lineup has a .238 ISO and wOBA of .380 against lefties in the last 30 days. Atlanta will have at least seven righties in the lineup and two lefties including Michael Harris, who has actually hit lefties well to start his major league career.
The Athletics will send out left-hander Cole Irvin, who has a 5.39 xFIP in the last 30 days. Irvin isn't going to put away many batters with just 13.2% of strikeouts in that same time frame. He's also inducing just 35.5% of ground balls and allowing 25.8% of line drives in the last 30 days.
The Braves should rake against Irvin, especially if he can't earn strikeouts.
On the other hand, it'll be Kyle Wright for the Braves. Wright has a 2.41 ERA in the season and has been a joy to watch. He's striking out 24.4% of batters in the last 30 days and has earned over 52% of ground balls in that same time frame.
Wright will take on an Oakland lineup that has a .111 ISO and wOBA of .271 in the last 30 days. Only Elvis Andrus has an elevated ISO and wOBA against righties in the last 30 days in the Oakland lineup.
That's just not going to cut it against Wright, who has been superb this season for the Braves.
So let's back the Braves in the first five innings on the runline. I'll take the Braves lineup against lefties along with Kyle Wright's consistent pitching throughout the year.
