Cincinnati Reds vs Arizona Diamondbacks Prediction: Can Graham Ashcraft Shutdown the Diamondbacks?
People need opportunities in this world. That's a scientific fact. Where would you be if you never had an opportunity? See what I mean? That's why I'm going with this guy tonight. For one, he's earned it. He's been toiling in the minors just waiting for a chance at joining the Circle of Trust and here's his opportunity. His whole life has boiled down to a game that starts at 6:40pm ET tonight. Talk about pressure.
The thing is, I think we're about to watch a guy that can handle it. I think we may see someone that eats pressure for breakfast (figuratively). Luckily for him, he's going to get a soft target in his first go at the Circle of Trust. We have to give him a chance.
Let's dive into my player prop pick, prediction, and the odds for the Cincinnati Reds vs Arizona Diamondbacks game.

Cincinnati Reds vs Arizona Diamondbacks Player Prop Pick
Graham Ashcraft 5+ Strikeouts (+138) (Bet $100 to win $138)
*Odds available at FanDuel at time of publishing*
I'm at FanDuel here and we have options at this book. If you want to go 4+, then that's -180. I hate that but you juice drinkers march to a different beat so I'll let you decide what's best for you. You could go all "hero bet" and do 6+ for +310. I might join in there but for now, let's just call 5+ +138 the move. DraftKings has +125 so if you have to play there, so be it. I'd advise staying away from BetMGM since they are only offering +110 which feels stingy.
Cincinnati Reds vs Arizona Diamondbacks Prediction
Graham Ashcraft. That's this guy's name. I think it sounds strong and dependable. But not when you read it. You have to say it out loud. Like physically say the words "Graham Ashcraft". I get "guy next door that always has whatever you need to borrow in terms of lawn equipment" vibes. That's big. In fact, the only thing I don't like about this guy's name is the fact that auto-correct always changes "Ashcraft" to "Ashcroft". That's crap.
People are saying Ashcraft isn't a strikeout guy because he's only reached five one time in his career. Don't let the haters fool you though. His career is like three games long at this point and every one of those games were against teams that aren't really strikeout teams. The thing is, Ashcraft managed five strikeouts last time out against the Washington Nationals. Don't listen to the haters, this guy can sit people down. He's 6'2", 240 pounds. He can do whatever the hell he wants.
Tonight he gets arguably the softest lineup in MLB in the Arizona Diamondbacks. (No offense Diamondbacks.) On the season only one team in MLB has struck out more than they have. It's pretty bad at this point. I'd say Ashcraft is maybe a lineup-dependent guy but he should see at least four or five 25+% whiff guys no matter who Arizona trots out there tonight. There's a chance he sees 6-7 which would be perfect. Still, no matter what happens, I feel like Ashcraft is going to make the most of this huge opportunity tonight.
