ANALYSIS

Miami Marlins vs Washington Nationals Prediction: Can Edward Cabrera Rack Up The Strikeouts?

In life, there are rules that we need to follow. Obviously, nobody likes following rules but sometimes rules can keep you safe. Take the one about not sticking a fork into an electric socket. That one seemed to work out for everyone. I can't think of many people that don't follow that one and we're all better for it. The same applies to sports betting when it comes to rules.

For instance, so far this season, one pretty important rule to follow is to not target the Washington Nationals when looking for strikeout props. It's basically the same thing as sticking a fork into an electric socket in the sense that it's highly unlikely to be a pleasant experience. Still, some of us just need to see for ourselves sometimes why we shouldn't do something. It's just how we roll. That's why I'm targeting the Washington Nationals with a K-prop tonight. Much like sticking a fork in an electric socket, this is probably a bad idea but I'm finding out the hard way.

Miami Marlins vs Washington Nationals Player Prop Pick

Edward Cabrera Over 5.5 Strikeouts (+125) (Bet $100 to win $125)

*Odds available at DraftKings at time of publishing*

We're at DraftKings for this one since they've got the best number. FanDuel has +122 for 6+ so technically that's second but it's basically the same thing. The only book I'd avoid here is BetMGM only because they have +105 but at the end of the day if you have to play there it's not the end of the world. You're definitely losing some value but you're also getting action which is key.

Miami Marlins vs Washington Nationals Prediction

Edward Cabrera. This guy just sounds like a guy that can strike people out. Honestly, I only became interested in this bet when he threw a 93+ mph changeup last time out in Colorado. When I saw that happen, I immediately looked up who he would pitch against next, and even though it was the Washington Nationals, I still made a pact with myself to bet him no matter what the number. I'm living up to my word here which is truly inspiring stuff. Hats off me for that.

No lie, I've only seen this guy pitch once. It was against Colorado the other day and he struck out nine of those guys. That's impressive since the Rockies aren't really a team that strikes out. Here's the thing though he was up in the majors at the end of last season and he fanned at least six guys in each of his last three starts of the season. The fun part is he never went more than four innings in any of those games.

Tonight he gets his most fierce opponent ever in the Washington Nationals. We're talking about a team that only strikes out 21% of the time on the season which makes them absolute beasts. If you ant numbers (nerd) that breaks down to just 408 strikeouts in 1883 at-bats. This is a suicide mission if I've ever seen one but everyone knows that if you win a bet like this that should never be made, the feeling is unmatched. I can't even put it into words. I think we may get that feeling tonight.
