Minnesota Twins vs. New York Yankees Prediction
The Yankees will look to win the rubber match of a three-game series with Gerrit Cole on the mound. Cole is 5-1 with a 2.78 ERA on the season. In the last 30 days, Cole has had an xFIP of 2.61 in the last 30 days. It's really turned things around after a poor start to the season.
In the last 30 days, Cole has also struck out 33.3% of batters and has walked 3% of batters while earning 50% of ground balls and 16.7% of line drives. Those are ace stats.
The Twins have also hit righties in the last 30 days with a .200 ISO and wOBA of .349 in the last 30 days. But Cole is no typical righty. The Twins could be in for one of those games where they strike out 10 times but hit a couple of homers off Cole. Cole pitches into those games a lot.

Meanwhile, it'll be Dylan Bundy for the Twins. He has been the exact opposite of Cole. He started the season hot and has since fallen apart. Bundy now has a 5.57 ERA on the year. He also has a 5.37 xFIP in the last 30 days. The right-hander has also only struck out only 17.3% of batters in that time frame and has allowed a BABIP of .345.
Bundy has really struggled against righties, allowing a .348 wOBA and ISO of .260. But even lefties have a .421 wOBA despite having limited power. It hasn't been a great season for Bundy who was trying to reinvent himself with Minnesota.
Tonight won't be any easier for Bundy. New York has a .217 ISO and wOBA of .353 against righties in the last 30 days with 11.7% of walks and just 21.5% of strikeouts.
Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton are the two major threats in the Yankees lineup but there are also righties like Josh Donaldson and Jose Trevino, who have also hit righties well recently from the right side.
With that said, I like the Yankees -.5 in the first five innings. Cole might give up a home run or two. But Bundy should ultimately get rocked by the Yankees lineup that will practically stack righties against the righty.
Minnesota Twins vs. New York Yankees Pick
