Philadelphia Phillies vs. Arizona Diamondbacks Prediction: Can We Count on Kyle Gibson to Stack Strikeouts?
To be a member of the Circle of Trust is probably the highest honor a pitcher can earn in 2022. Everyone knows that. So when we see one of our guys pitching against the Arizona Diamondbacks, we should notice. Not only should we notice, but we should look into every single possible aspect of the game because we're likely throwing down some cash. It's just how Circle of Trust guys work. They pitch, you bet on them. Pretty simple stuff here. These are the kind of guys you don't even have to wait for a lineup before you bet. You just bet. I would love to see who the umpire is or who is in the opposing lineup for all my bets but when we're talking Circle of Trust members, it's not needed. In fact, waiting only hurts because, by the time more information is divulged, the price is sky-high. Nobody can afford that. Not in this economy. That's why we need to get down on this guy right now.

Just because Kyle Gibson is in the Circle of Trust doesn't mean I'm a big Kyle Gibson guy. I love all the Circle of Trust guys like my own, but you have to earn your keep to stay in this thing. Tough but fair is the way in this game we play. That will never change. Still, it's hard to discount what this guy has done so far this season. He has more than earned his spot. The 52 strikeouts in 57.1 innings of work is genius. Not too much, not too little. Just enough to get favorable lines.
In 11 starts this season, Gibson has only hit this number four times. That's why we're seeing 4.5 (-120) against a team that strikes out all the time. This is the fourth time this season that he will get an opportunity to pitch against a bottom-six team in strikeouts. He went for 8+ Ks in two of three starts against those other teams. The only time he failed to get five was against the Los Angeles Angels and I'm pretty confident he would have got home if he didn't get shelled that game.
Tonight he's getting the Arizona Diamondbacks who are second-worst in strikeouts in MLB this season. They are quickly closing in on the Atlanta Braves which is now turning into a three-team race when we see what the Los Angeles Angels are doing at that plate. If we get the right mix of Pavin Smith, Jake Hager, Jordan Luplow, Jake McCarthy, and Cooper Hummel, Gibson will get home easily on this number. We need to think about how high we ladder this guy.
