Alex Wood seems to have returned to form in a bounce-back outing his last time on the bump and the San Francisco Giants just had a stellar weekend for themselves sweeping the Los Angeles Dodgers in a three game series. They hit a rough patch here a while back and cooled off after an electric start but seem to have returned to form.
The Giants are 33-26 on the season but just 11-19 at home which is unlike themselves, they are much better at home than they are showing currently and I expect that number to look much better by the end of the season. That all starts by taking care of business against some inferior squads like the Kansas City Royals. They are one loss away from being having twice the number of losses than they have wins this season sitting at 20-39. Singer is 3-1 on the season but sporting a 4.33 ERA on the season and the Giants can hit.

The Birds are back home in St. Louis tonight as the Pittsburgh Pirates head to Busch Stadium to do battle with their central division foes. I will keep this short and sweet; Thompson is young and unproven but can throw the ball and does not have an incredibly huge mountain to climb here facing this lineup. There are a few bats to avoid but not many, pitch smart and the Birds on the Bat should do the rest.
Mitch Kellar has seen some success facing St. Louis before but this lineup is back to full strength and beginning to start firing on all cylinders. The guys love to win at home and should look to improve their positioning in the central division standings, back the Birds at home.
