Most people that look at this game will likely bet on the game spread, and although I lean White Sox, it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if Detroit's bullpen day keeps the White Sox bats quiet. I am choosing to just pick on the Detroit offense here, I don’t think they score 2 or more runs in the first five innings. Detroit scored 5 runs yesterday, which is equivalent to a respectable baseball team scoring 10, so they’re all runned out. This feels like one of those classic games for Dylan Cease against the Tigers.

For those who don’t know, Dylan Cease owns the Tigers. The man has a lifetime 9-0 record against them and a 2.08 ERA against them. Against these specific bats today he has only allowed 11 RBI in 117 at-bats, which would mean he shouldn’t allow his second run until his 21st batter and I don’t think he pitches to that many batters today. Cease is known for being a great pitcher but he doesn’t go too late into games, the most I could imagine him going is six innings today but that’s irrelevant because our bet is just the first five innings. I really don’t remember the last time Detroit had back-to-back competent days swinging the bat.

Detroit made Lance Lynn look silly yesterday but I take that with a grain of salt. The team is still hitting .210 against righties on the year and Cease has a phenomenal history against them. I also lean into liking the Tigers' u3.5 Team Total for the complete game but I just can’t trust the White Sox bullpen after the pain they caused us the other day blowing a 5-0 lead. I like this game to remain low scoring on both sides but I’m more confident in the sample size of Dylan Cease than the unfamiliarity of who exactly Detroit will put on the mound after Hutchison.
